ITEMS NEEDED FOR COACHING:

EQUIPMENT:

Collar, please think outside the box. What collar is going to work for you and your canine teammate? Remember collars are a coaching tool, never use them to punish our four legged partner.

Leash, again please think outside the box. If you are small with a big canine, a special leash with two handles may be needed. If you are tall or your canine partner is tiny, a 6 foot leash may be needed for coaching purposes. If you and your canine partner are close in size, you may want a 4 foot leash.  We will discuss what works best for you and your canine.

Treat bag or way to dispense treats quickly.

Poop bags.  Always have them on hand!  Any plastic bag will work.

TREATS: Treats should be plentiful and of high value. High value treats are any treat/food your canine would absolutely turn flips for if they could without being asked. Make sure your treats are not going to make your canine sick as well. When you think you have enough treats add 20% more. Make sure the treats are very small and easily moved from the palm of your hand to between your thumb and index finger like a PEZ Dispenser, remember treats can be your canines food.

ASSESSMENT: All canine teams will be assessed prior to coaching to determine where the team are in their journey.
