Always remember, you and your canine are a team. Team members work together to attain a successful outcome, they have identified. Now, given that identified outcome, it is important to remember, canines do not come into the world speaking English. They have to learn a new language and appropriate social, family, and working behaviors. When you have successfully completed your coaching plan,  the team needs to remember this is not the end. It is a lifetime journey.

When we are bonding with our canine partner, it is important to remember that if our canine is not “getting it,” we need to step back, take a breath and rethink how we are asking. We are the one with a vision and so the responsibility of sharing that vision in a way our canine can understand is ours.
